Winter walk on the beach
A lone couple on the beach in Topsail, North Carolina late on a winter afternoon. I like these kinds of landscapes because they suggest Winslow Homer to me. The people are included in the image to provide a sense of scale and to provide a focal point for the viewer's interest. The color of the light is actually pretty accurate. I shot this photo about an hour before sunset. Shot with a Nikon D7100 and a Nikon 80-200m f2.8D ED lens.

Riders in The Storm
Riders in a heavy downpour during the 2013 Grant Park Crit Races in Atlanta, GA. This isn't a good photo from a technical perspective. However, I like it because it's suggests the style of Leroy Neimen. This was a shot of opportunity. I was trying to get back to the car during a torrential rain storm while keeping my camera gear relatively dry. This photo was shot handheld using a Nikon D90 and a Nikon 80-00mm f2.8D ED lens at 1/8 sec shutter speed, f9.5 @ ISO 400. There wasn't time to set the camera correctly to get the shot.
